Don’t miss the Thursday, July 24, Southern Virginia Meat Goat Association meeting, 7 p.m. at the Halifax Ag Marketing Center.

Dr. Bruce M. Bowman, Regional Field Veterinarian from the VA Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Office of Veterinary Services will be coming from Harrisonburg to talk about the importance of Scrapie tags and how this procedure helps to trace animal diseases – for your farm’s benefit.

Last month’s farm tour had over 80 participants and all present learned some very useful information. Please attend this meeting to show your support and, should you already know all about the importance of Scrapie tags, remember that Dr. Bowman is a veterinarian with statewide experience and will be available to answer other goat and sheep production questions. Invite interested and/or potential members as they are often in the dark about Scrapie tags and the need for them.
